    Picture this: you open a new work order, consult the latest blueprint, plan your torque sequence, and confirm every critical dimension with precision gauges. You install inserts cleanly, etch the part, run a hydro or vacuum test, and document it all in IDC—handing off a component that performs exactly as engineered.     Reports to: Assembly and Finishing Team Leader

    Your Core Responsibilities

    • Translate customer work orders, engineering process routers, and drawings into correct assembly steps, meeting all specified dimensions and tolerances.
    • Apply proper torque methods and sequencing with torque wrenches to achieve reliable joint integrity.
    • Use precision measuring instruments to verify parts and assemblies.
    • Operate standard hand tools and shop equipment, including grinders, jitter bugs, and drills.
    • Install thread inserts, keenserts, and fasteners to specification.
    • Operate and troubleshoot electro etchers, hydro test pumps, and vacuum pumps.
    • Perform material moves with fork trucks and overhead cranes.
    • Enter complete and accurate data in the IDC system; ensure labor is reported correctly.
    • Access and work within the “Available Documents” program to follow the latest procedures.
    • Keep equipment and your work area clean and orderly every day.
    • Communicate and coordinate effectively with coworkers and your supervisor.

    Quality and Safety Expectations

    • Deliver conforming components that meet blueprint requirements; ensure all moving parts function as intended.
    • Protect internal components and finish quality; maintain cleanliness and preservation standards.
    • Follow all SOPs and WIs; maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

    Qualifications

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; one year of trade school, vocational education, or apprenticeship preferred (not required).
    • Experience: Not applicable.
    • Certification Required: Not applicable.

    Physical Requirements

    • Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor.
    • Exert 50–100 lbs occasionally; 25–50 lbs frequently; up to 10–20 lbs constantly to move objects.

    Visual and Hearing Requirements

    • Near acuity and accommodation needed for reading blueprints and assembling small details.
    • Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes and take action. Accommodations as required for communicating with employees.

    Working Conditions

    • High noise from operating machines.
    • Physical hazards from moving equipment and production components.
    • Exposure to fumes, dust, and mist.
    • Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids.
