People always tell you that you're incredible with little kids. This job was written for you.
You get down on their level. You speak their language — part silly, part patient, all heart. A room full of 2-year-olds with soccer balls doesn't intimidate you. It energizes you.
That's a gift. And we're looking for exactly that.
For over 45 years, Skyhawks Sports has believed that the earliest experiences in sport shape how a child sees themselves for life. Our Tots programs — SoccerTots, BaseballTots, 1stDownTots, Multi-SportTots, and more — aren't about developing athletes. They're about building tiny humans who feel capable, joyful, and brave. The right coach at this age can plant seeds that last a lifetime.
We've been serving kids across the Treasure Valley for 4 years and we're growing. If you've spent years being "the one" with little kids — whether raising them, teaching them, or caring for them — we want to talk to you.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead small groups of children ages 2–5 through age-appropriate, playful, skill-based sessions using Skyhawks' proven Tots curriculum.
  • Warmly welcome and engage parents — some sessions have parents on the sideline cheering, others have them right there on the field with their child. You'll love both.
  • Create an environment where even the shyest toddler feels safe enough to try something new.
  • Communicate with warmth and confidence with parents before and after sessions — they trust you with their most precious people.
  • Set up equipment and keep sessions safe, organized, and full of fun.
  • Represent Skyhawks with pride and help families feel like they found exactly the right place.

Who We're Looking For:
  • You're the person everyone says is "so good with little kids" — and you've heard it your whole life.
  • You bring a natural combination of patience, playfulness, and nurturing presence — not one or the other, all three.
  • You know that a 3-year-old having a meltdown isn't a problem to manage, it's a child who needs connection — and you know how to give it.
  • You're a stay-at-home parent ready for a meaningful part-time role, a retired teacher or early childhood educator, a daycare or preschool veteran, or simply someone who has always known that tiny humans are your people.
  • You're reliable: you show up, you follow through, you never leave a group of toddlers and parents wondering where their coach is.
  • You care about more than a paycheck — you want work that genuinely matters.

You don't need a sports resume. You need a heart for little ones and the energy to match. Experience in childcare, early childhood education, preschool, or parenting absolutely counts here. Some sports background is a bonus, not a requirement.

What You'll Receive:
  • $17–$19/hr (Classes) | $15–$18/hr (Camps), with a quick raise for reliability and growth.
  • Paid training and free First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Flexible scheduling built around your life — evenings and Saturday mornings (9am–12pm).
  • A team that sees your gift and celebrates it.
  • The opportunity to grow into additional coaching roles and Director opportunities as we expand.
  • Meaningful work you'll actually talk about — because it mattered to a child who will never forget you.

Application Questions:
  • Do you have a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation?
  • Which cities are you available to travel to? (Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Avimor, Star)
  • Are you available for evening classes and/or Saturday mornings between 9am–12pm?
  • Tell us about your background with young children — whether that's parenting, teaching, childcare, or something else entirely.
  • What do you think is the most important thing a coach can give a 3-year-old?
  • What is the single most important thing to you?
