Tow Truck Driver

Responsibilities

Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized vehicles, to recover and transport vehicles of various sizes and types.
Perform minor mechanical repairs and diagnostics on vehicles to troubleshoot issues effectively.
Secure cargo and ensure proper vehicle loading onto tow trucks following cargo securement protocols.
Conduct vehicle inspections before and after towing to identify mechanical issues or damages.
Assist customers courteously, providing excellent customer service during stressful roadside situations.
Follow all safety procedures related to vehicle recovery towing, vehicle mechanics for truck drivers, and safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks.
Maintain detailed logs of all towing operations, repairs performed, and vehicle conditions for accountability and reporting purposes.
Requirements

Proven experience in automotive diagnostics, automotive repair, or mechanical work with a solid understanding of vehicle mechanics.
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience operating commercial trucks and flatbed tow trucks is preferred.
Knowledge of cargo securement protocols, manual transmission operation, and safe driving practices for commercial vehicles.
Ability to perform basic vehicle troubleshooting and minor mechanical repairs efficiently.
Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle stressful situations professionally.
Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle recovery towing, car towing, forklift operation, and basic mechanical repairs.
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and problem resolution.
Physical ability to load/unload vehicles safely and perform manual tasks required in roadside assistance scenarios.
