Tow Truck Operator

As a tow truck driver at Newhouse Towing, you will be responsible for safely operating a company truck, assisting customers, and completing a variety of roadside and towing services. This position requires strong awareness, reliability, and the ability to stay calm and professional in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.

What You’ll Do

• Perform a daily inspection of your truck before starting your shift
• Respond to dispatched calls and maintain communication with dispatch throughout the shift
• Safely load, transport, and unload vehicles
• Provide roadside services including jump starts, lockouts, fuel delivery, and tire changes
• Greet customers professionally and assist them when needed
• Follow instructions at drop locations and confirm proper vehicle placement
• Complete all required paperwork, including invoices and daily till sheets
• Take required photos and document each call accurately
• Work safely in and around traffic at all times
• Maintain and clean company equipment
• Work as part of a team and support other drivers when needed

What This Job Requires

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
• Good communication with customers, dispatch, and team members
• Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
• Physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs and perform hands-on work outdoors in all weather

Training

Hands-on training provided for the right candidate

Qualified Applicants

• Valid driver’s license with no more than 2 citations within the past 5 years
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Ability to pass a background check (required for insurance and police contract compliance)
• Maintain a valid DOT medical card (or ability to obtain and maintain one)
• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, squatting, and pulling
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance
