You will initially work in the field while also supervising driver performance, enforcing safety and compliance standards, and developing new drivers. As the department grows, you will hire and develop team members, identify drivers for promotion, and establish reliable coverage.
This position is accountable for the performance of the driver department with opportunity to grow more within the company.
Duties Establish and monitor quotas and performance expectations, including response times, completed calls, communication, and service quality. Perform private property impounds, customer requested towing, and roadside assistance services. Grow department production while maintaining safe operations, lawful towing, and professional customer service. Supervise all drivers and hold them accountable for attendance, productivity, conduct, documentation, and company procedures. Ensure towing operations comply with Texas laws, TDLR regulations, applicable local requirements, and property enforcement instructions. Enforce safe driving, loading, securement, wheel lift and dolly use, vehicle protection, and appropriate safety equipment. Ensure truck inspections are completed and documented, defects are reported, and unsafe trucks or equipment are removed from service. Coordinate maintenance and repairs with the Service Manager and track completion. Prepare driver schedules, assign trucks and coverage areas, and arrange backup coverage for absences, breakdowns, and changes in call volume. Recruit, interview, hire, and train drivers. Respond to incidents, complaints, damage claims, and operational problems. Requirements At least 4 years of towing experience , including repossession and/or private property towing . Basic automotive diagnostics skills to troubleshoot vehicle issues efficiently. Excellent customer service skills to handle interactions professionally during stressful situations. Ability to manage conflict effectively within a team or with clients while maintaining focus on safety standards.
