QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have reliable transportation capable of traveling in inclement weather.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage day-to-day operations for the Town of Sherman; Oversee the administration and operation of Town departments, ensuring efficient delivery of services such as public safety, infrastructure, parks, and community programs
  • Provide visionary leadership by setting strategic goals aligned with community needs and long-term development plans
  • Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance including profit & loss responsibilities, and ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Financial duties including, but limited to, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Account Reconciliations, managing CD Accounts, collecting taxes, daily cash-ups and bank deposits, preparing financial reports, and preparing for the annual audits.
  • Assist in vendor and contract negotiations. Manage contracts ensuring continuation of vital municipal services and risk reduction
  • Supervise department heads and staff, fostering a motivated team environment focused on continuous improvement
  • Implement process improvements to optimize operations, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery
  • Coordinate with elected officials, community groups, and external agencies to advance shared objectives and maintain transparent communication
  • Complete registrations of Motor Vehicles, Vital Records, Inland Fisheries, Elections, and any other municipal related functions.
  • Prepare and collect property and personal property taxes, Process liens, and facilitate possible foreclosures

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication abilities, working knowledge of office equipment, be detail oriented, and possess a commitment to providing exceptional service. Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, Paychex, Financial Management, Contract Management, knowledge of the General Assistance Program and the Freedom of Information Act. This front-facing, customer service-based role will be one of the first to greet customers as they arrive, and one of the last they see before leaving.
