Track Worker / Equipment Operator – Traveling Rail CrewRoad & Rail ServicesHome Location: Mulberry, FLStarting Pay: $20.00 per hour – up to $24.00 based on experienceJob Type: Full-TimeTravel: Up to 75% travel requiredBuild and Maintain the Track That Keeps Operations MovingRoad & Rail Services is hiring Track Workers / Equipment Operators to join our rail maintenance team based out of Mulberry, Florida.This is a hands-on railroad construction and maintenance position for someone who doesn't mind getting dirty, working outdoors, traveling for projects, and putting in a physically demanding day's work.You'll work alongside an experienced crew maintaining and repairing railroad track at various locations. Depending on the project, you may replace railroad ties, work with rail and track components, operate equipment, cut materials, clear right-of-way areas, or assist with other track construction and maintenance activities.This position requires up to 75% travel. Candidates must be comfortable traveling to project locations and being away from home when assignments require it.Previous railroad experience is helpful, but candidates with experience in construction, heavy equipment, excavation, landscaping, agriculture, utilities, road crews, concrete, outdoor maintenance, or other physically demanding trades are encouraged to apply.What You'll DoAs a Track Worker / Equipment Operator, you may:Install, remove, and replace railroad tiesAssist with rail installation, alignment, and replacementPerform track maintenance and repair activitiesOperate assigned construction and track-maintenance equipmentUse hand tools, power tools, and other railroad maintenance equipmentCut, drill, grind, and handle steel and track componentsAssist with positioning and securing rail and other materialsLoad, unload, move, and stage tools, equipment, and materialsClear brush, vegetation, debris, and other obstructions from work areasInspect track areas and identify visible maintenance or safety concernsPerform general construction and maintenance duties as assignedMaintain tools and equipment in safe working conditionFollow company, customer, and railroad safety requirementsWear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Work closely with crew members to safely complete projects on scheduleWhat We're Looking ForWe're looking for dependable employees who understand that railroad track work is physical, outdoor work.Qualified candidates should be able to:Travel up to 75% based on project requirementsPerform physically demanding work for extended periodsRegularly lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 poundsBend, squat, kneel, reach, stand, and walk throughout the workdayWork on ballast, uneven ground, and other outdoor surfacesWork outdoors in heat, cold, rain, wind, humidity, and other changing weather conditionsSafely use hand and power toolsFollow detailed safety instructionsWork effectively as part of a crewMaintain dependable attendance and punctualityAdapt to changing project locations and work assignmentsPrevious experience with heavy equipment, construction equipment, railroad maintenance, track construction, welding, excavation, farming, landscaping, or similar outdoor work is a plus.Pay & BenefitsStarting Pay: $20.00 per hourCandidates with relevant railroad, construction, or equipment experience may qualify for up to $24.00 per hour based on experience.Road & Rail Services offers eligible full-time employees:Medical, vision, and dental insurance401(k) with company matchPaid holidaysPaid vacationAnnual steel-toe boot allowanceCompany-provided PPETraining and development opportunitiesOpportunities for advancementPromote-from-within cultureVeteran-friendly workplaceA Career for People Who Like Working OutdoorsEstablished in 1987, Road & Rail Services provides rail-related operations and maintenance services throughout North America.
