Job Summary
Mechanics are responsible for providing quality, timely, and cost-effective repair and general maintenance for fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, forklifts, convertor dollies, and other equipment that requires preventable maintenance, general repairs, modification and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and routine maintenance on Company fleet equipment.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other failures to tractors, trailers, forklifts or other equipment.
Use of forklift, dolly, man-lift, vehicle hoist, hydraulic jacks, welding equipment, and other shop equipment.
Properly complete work orders and related documentation within the Company's maintenance tracking software.
Communicate effectively with both drivers and Managers to gather information needed to complete repairs and maintenance.
Tests equipment after repairs are completed to ensure they're functioning as expected.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age or older
High School Diploma or equivalent
Authorized to work in the United States.
Provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
Working knowledge of mechanical systems on tractors, trailers, forklifts, converter dollies, and other equipment.
Knowledge of DOT, EPA, and OSHA rules and regulations.
Ability to troubleshoot and analyze failures to mechanical components and parts.
Physical Requirements
This position requires but is not limited to the following physical requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying tools, parts, and equipment up to 200 pounds.
Regular use of hands and arms for handling tools, reaching overhead, and working in compact spaces.
Adequate vision and hearing to communicate, detect equipment defects and follow Safety signals.
Working Environment
This position operates in various environments, including indoor dock/shop, enclosed vehicles, and outdoor areas. Work may occur in extreme temperatures, inclement weather, low-light conditions, in and around moving equipment or other personnel engaged in freight handling and maintenance operations.
