Job Title: Tractor Trailer Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Tractor Trailer Mechanic to join our team. This role involves working Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM, with the possibility of working 45-50 hours per week. The mechanic will be responsible for servicing and maintaining fleet vehicles, performing scheduled preventative maintenance, and conducting necessary repair work.
Responsibilities
  • Service and maintain fleet vehicles.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Utilize the company's work order management system to track and complete repairs.
  • Work primarily in a shop environment.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with diesel engines, preventive maintenance, and heavy equipment maintenance repairs.
  • Ability to read job orders and determine equipment malfunctions.
  • Experience working on 18-wheeler tractors and trailers.
  • Knowledge of DOT inspections and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance and general mechanical repairs.
  • Experience with brake systems and minor welding repairs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Brake Certification training or at least one year of experience working in a dealership.

Work Environment
The work primarily takes place in a shop environment, which is heated during colder months but not air-conditioned. The office area is air-conditioned for comfort. A company vehicle is provided for use during working hours, and service calls are generally local, requiring minimal travel.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
