Trade Compliance, Lead Associate

Responsibilities:

Peraton is hiring a Trade Compliance Analyst to join our growing Trade Compliance team within the Legal Department. This position supports activities involving U.S. government agencies across the intelligence, space, cyber, defense, and civilian markets. The role is primarily remote; however, occasional on-site work may be required. As such, candidates must reside in one of the following locations: 

• DC, MD, Northern Virginia Metro area
• Annapolis Junction, MD
• Melbourne, FL
• Huntsville, AL
• Colorado Springs, CO
• Aurora, CO

 

Responsibilities:

• Apply working knowledge of the ITAR, EAR, and FTR to research, analyze, interpret, and advise functional departments on compliance with U.S. international trade laws and regulations.
• Prepare, submit, and administer export authorization requests, including Technical Assistance Agreements, Commerce licenses, and validation of applicable ITAR Exemptions and EAR Exceptions.
• Review and approve international shipments (exports and imports), foreign travel, and foreign visitor requests, ensuring all activities comply with licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Review proposals, contracts, and purchase orders and participate in programmatic technical discussions related to business area programs and technologies.
• Conduct export compliance training for new employees, existing employees, and program-specific teams.
• Maintain export and import records in accordance with U.S. regulatory requirements and company policy.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s Degree with 3 years of related experience. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Prefer Trade Compliance experience with a government contractor.
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Organizational skills with experience managing multiple deadlines.
• Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience is preferred in entering and managing export authorizations in Oracle’s GTM, DECCS, SNAP-R and CBP’s AES.
• Ability to obtain a TS clearance.

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
