Position Summary
This position supports the trade compliance teams in executing international trade operations. The key responsibility of this role is to support and maintain export/import shipment documentation, assisting in product classification and country of origin evaluation. Support in the implementation of efficient and effective processes for trade compliance transactions in alignment with U.S. Government laws, rules, regulations, and client’s internal policies. Responsibilities also include communication with customs Brokers / Freight Forwarders as well as participation in cross-functional work teams.
 
Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility
•        Maintain accurate HTS code classification and country of origin determination for all imported/exported products.
•        Assist in applying proper U.S. Customs Valuation methods.
•        Review and maintain import /export documentation (commercial invoice, packing lists, certificates or origin)
•        Track international shipments for customs delay and regulatory holds
•        Support the implementation of Customs programs such as Duty Drawback, Temporary Import Bonds, etc.
•        Assist in the coordination with customs brokers, freight forwarders, for providing pre-clearance instructions and shipping instructions
•        Support ERP integration of trade compliance data (e.g., SAP material master).
•        Assist with internal audits and documentation which include pre and post CBP entry reviews.
•        Provide reporting on trade compliance metrics and duty exposure.
 
Minimum Requirements:
•        Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, related field. Or equivalent experience (5+ years)
•        3+ years in trade compliance, customs, or international logistics.
•        Basic knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and Foreign Trade Regulations
•        Basic knowledge of HTS classification, valuation methods, country of origin determination, and Customs programs such as Duty Drawback, Temporary Import Bonds, Foreign Trade Zones, etc.
•        Basic understanding of US Trade Regulations
•        Experience using ERP systems such as SAP.
•        Experience with Trade Automation / SW solutions.
•        Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
 
•        Preferred Qualifications
•        Experience with duty drawbacks, FTZs, or CTPAT.
•        Ability to motivate and initiate change.
 
Special Position Requirements
•        Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
 
Physical Environment:
•        Primarily office environment but will be required to visit warehouse, production and repair station areas.
