A bit about us:

A nationally recognized intellectual property law practice is seeking an experienced Trademark Litigation Paralegal to support a busy trademark litigation team. The practice focuses exclusively on trademark, trade dress, copyright, and unfair competition matters, representing clients across a wide range of industries in complex, high stakes brand disputes.
This role supports attorneys handling trademark litigation, administrative proceedings, and domain name disputes, and requires deep hands on experience with TTAB matters and federal litigation.
Location and Schedule:
This is an on site hybrid role based in Austin, Texas, with an in office expectation of two days per week. Remote candidates will not be considered at this time*****

Job Details

What You Will Do:

  • Manage and maintain trademark litigation and brand enforcement client and matter files
  • Draft and prepare pleadings and filings including notices of opposition, petitions for cancellation, answers, -motions, declarations, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and deposition notices
  • Assist attorneys with discovery management including document collection, review, and production
  • Coordinate and oversee e discovery processes and work with external vendors
  • File documents electronically in federal courts, state courts, and administrative agencies including the TTAB, -Courts of Appeal, and domain name dispute forums
  • Perform factual and legal cite checking for motions and briefs
  • Prepare attorneys for hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trial proceedings
  • Track deadlines, maintain dockets, and share responsibility for compliance with all filing requirements
  • Maintain daily timekeeping for billing purposes
  • Manage incoming correspondence and take appropriate follow up action
  • Maintain both physical and electronic case files

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and or paralegal certification from an ABA approved program
  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm environment
  • Significant experience with federal district court civil litigation
  • Strong working knowledge of federal court rules and procedures
  • Experience with TTAB proceedings and trademark enforcement matters strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with document management systems, docketing software, legal research tools, and PACER
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, detail oriented environment and adapt to shifting priorities
