Trademark & Copyright Paralegal (Hybrid - Portland, OR)

LHH has partnered with a leading law firm is seeking an experienced Trademark & Copyright Paralegal to support a dynamic intellectual property team. This role offers a strong mix of hands-on trademark work, client interaction, and long-term career growth within a collaborative, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage U.S. and international trademark filings, including applications, renewals, and maintenance
  • Prepare and assist with USPTO, WIPO, and foreign associate filings
  • Conduct trademark searches and draft search reports
  • Support TTAB matters, including oppositions and cancellations
  • Assist with copyright applications
  • Coordinate and maintain trademark docketing systems and deadlines
  • Prepare client communications, filings, and legal documentation
  • Support due diligence efforts, including trademark portfolio review and chain of title analysis
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys and cross-functional teams on active matters
Must-Have Qualifications
  • 5+ years of trademark and copyright experience
  • Strong knowledge of USPTO systems (TEAS, Trademark Center, Assignment Center)
  • Experience with WIPO Madrid Protocol filings
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Demonstrated career stability; candidates with role changes should be able to clearly explain transitions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Familiarity with docketing systems (e.g., Foundation IP)
  • Paralegal certificate and/or college degree
Work Environment & Schedule
  • Hybrid schedule: onsite full-time for the first 60 days, then 2 remote days/week (based on performance)
  • Standard hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday-Friday)
  • Occasional overtime as needed
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $73,000 - $123,000 annually
  • Final compensation is determined based on experience, skills, education, and market factors
Bonus:
  • Eligible for a discretionary year-end bonus based on individual and firm performance
