Class Summary
Job Description
This position will be responsible for performing trade duties on HVAC / Aquatics Pool equipment throughout the Parks, Recreation, and Aquatic facilities.
Essential Duties
- Performing preventive maintenance, performance, and efficiency services on HVAC and pool equipment
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment failures and performing minor repairs
- Performing minor adjustments and maintaining equipment in good working order
- Performing minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs
- Maintaining levels of inventory, tools, parts, and supplies
- Processing, maintaining, and updating service requests using a Computerized Asset Management program (Lucity)
- Performing other job-related duties, as assigned
Dehumidification Responsibilities
- Checking and changing air filters
- Providing proper lubrication and all required parts
- Checking worn or loose belts and adjusting or replacing, as necessary
- Checking all operating parts for wear, leakage, signs of failure, and correct operation
- Checking volts and amperage
- Checking the operation of controls and safety devices
- Checking and cleaning the condensation pan and drain line
- Checking for torn insulation and repairing if needed
- Checking and recording in the logbook the actual operating values, and the values read from the automated controller
- Checking damper operation to ensure they are opening and closing without binding
Pool Requirements
- Coordinating monthly pool inspections
- Checking pool motors for proper operation and lubricating according to the manufacturer's recommendation
- Inspecting and overseeing the contractor and the contractor's work performed
- Performing swimming pool-related maintenance tasks, including chemicals, troubleshooting, and cleaning
- Prioritizing workloads
- Assisting staff in other functional areas, as required
Public Speaking Duties
- Participating in meetings and safety committees
Other Job Requirements/Information
- This job is a safety-sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
- This job will require a 100-pound lift test.
Grade
- The grade for this position is B21(3). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma, or G.E.D. And
Two years of trades experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above, will also be considered
Valid drivers license
Preferred Qualifications, in addition to the above minimum qualifications
- Ability to swim 25 yards
- CPR Certification
- Electrical and HVAC license
- Providing an excellent customer service experience
- Operating a computer and applicable software
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with peers, supervisors, contractors, general public, etc., sufficient to exchange or convey information
- Knowledge of proper maintenance of swimming pools, including chemicals, methods, and techniques of cleaning
- Knowledge and compliance with swimming pool ordinances and regulations
