Class Summary

Job Description

This position will be required to perform work on highly specialized equipment, installing and maintaining electrical/electronic devices, measuring and controlling instrumentation, and plant process control systems associated with pumping and booster stations, as well as water and wastewater plants.

Essential Duties

  • Provide training and technical support to employees.
  • Direct employees in the proper repair/replacement of equipment.
  • Trouble-shoot equipment to determine the cause of any problems.
  • Make accurate and timely decisions with respect to repairs and/or replacements.
  • May also act as a liaison between the department and on-site contractors.

Minimum Qualifications

Trades Tech II: (Grade B213) - $44,968.00 - $71,948.00

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of trades experience
  • Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job;
  • Class A Commercial Drivers License must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
  • Valid drivers license.

Trades Tech III: (Grade B233) - $53,286.00 - $85,258.00

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years of trades experience
  • Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
  • Class A Commercial Drivers License must be obtained within 12 months of employment
  • Valid drivers license

Trades Tech IV: (Grade B313) - $57,950.00 - $92,719.00

  • High school diploma, or GED
  • Valid drivers license;
  • Five years of progressively responsible trades experience, some of which is in a supervisory capacity;
  • or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above;
  • Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) must be obtained within 12 months of employment

  • This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing.
  • This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
