Laurel Ridge Community College is looking for a motivated and reliable Trades Technician who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in doing the job right. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work on a variety of tasks. In this role, candidates will work directly with tools, equipment, and materials to support installation, maintenance, and repair projects across a variety of trade disciplines. Candidates should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating attention to detail, safety awareness, and problem-solving skills.

Classified: Compensation and Benefits

The hiring range for this position is $52,987.00 - $71,532.00. Salary will be commensurate with competencies and experience. The position is classified staff and as such is eligible for the benefits package offered by the Commonwealth of Virginia for state agencies. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated maintenance experience
  • Ability to lift heavy objects; drivers license
  • Demonstrated experience using landscaping equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience operating equipment such as bobcats, snow plows, tractors, etc. apprenticeship, certification or license in a dedicated trade such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC

  • Experience w/small engine/mechanical repair
