A growing systematic investment manager is hiring Trading Systems Operations Engineers to support the reliability, performance, and scalability of its production trading environment. This role is part of a newly expanding team and will work closely with engineering, quantitative research, trading operations, accounting, compliance, and business stakeholders.
This is a hands-on production role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical issues in live trading environments. You will monitor critical systems, troubleshoot incidents, support new trading functionality, improve operational workflows, and help build a stronger foundation for continued platform growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor trading systems, production applications, infrastructure components, and data workflows to ensure reliability and performance.
Respond to alerts, incidents, and production issues with urgency and strong root cause analysis.
Support new trading functionality, including connectivity, broker onboarding, secure file transfer, and system configuration.
Help establish and maintain FIX connectivity, trading sessions, file encryption, FTP workflows, and related operational integrations.
Troubleshoot issues across Linux, logs, scripts, market data, order flow, and application workflows.
Partner with research, engineering, accounting, compliance, and business users on production support and ad hoc analysis.
Identify recurring support issues and build automation to improve stability, efficiency, and operational scale.
Contribute to a high-ownership team supporting business-critical trading infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of systems operations, application support, production support, or trading systems support experience.
Experience in financial services, ideally within trading, investment management, hedge fund, prop trading, market making, brokerage, or capital markets technology.
Strong Linux troubleshooting and command line skills.
Python scripting or coding experience;Bash, Perl, or similar scripting experience is also helpful.
Exposure to trading systems, market data, order entry, execution workflows, or production trading platforms.
FIX protocol experience or strong familiarity with trading connectivity concepts.
Equities asset class experience preferred.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environment.
BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, STEM, or equivalent technical experience.
