Classification:

This is a full time; in office; hourly; non-exempt position.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting trading staff in the execution of contracts, rates and logistical support for commodity shipments by truck or rail. Administrative assistants provide support to the trading staff by preparing, processing and maintaining the records generated when commodities are traded.

Requirements:

· Proficient with Microsoft Office is required. Experience with financial database applications is desirable. Logistics experience a plus.

· Excellent customer service, verbal and written communications.

· Ability to problem-solve when incidents occur outside standard procedures.

· Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meeting and completing assignments.

· Administrative assistants must possess good organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and must require minimum daily supervision to complete assigned workload.

Organizational Relationships:

· Daily assignments will require working directly with trading staff.

· Must be able to complete assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision.

Duties:

· Provide support to trading staff by generating reports and interpreting data.

· Provide support to trading staff by inputting data, i.e. contracts, releases, shipments, weights and numbers. Schedule shipments and secure the appropriate transportation of our products.

· Communicate with clients and vendors where necessary, returning calls, answering questions and providing appropriate information in timely manner.

· Maintain clear and concise records of all transactions as assigned.

· Communicate with traders, transportation and other administrative staff as necessary to ensure efficient flow of information.

· Perform accounting functions as assigned, i.e. processing of accounts payable/receivable transactions.

· Participate in the training of interns and new employees as necessary.

· Perform other duties as assigned.
