Position: Traffic Engineer / Transportation Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to support the planning, design, and analysis of transportation and highway improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in traffic engineering design, traffic operations, and transportation analysis, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Design or provide oversight of traffic-affiliated improvements for highway-related projects
- Develop or provide oversight for traffic control, traffic signal, and signing/pavement marking plans
- Perform or provide oversight for traffic analysis and modelling on transportation improvement projects.
- Complete or provide oversight for designated task assignments and technical reports that summarize recommendations
- Review and seal traffic-related submittals
- Mentor junior engineers
- Work collaboratively with other team members, consultants, and our clients
- Attend professional organization meetings to build relationships and assist with business development
Qualifications: - 5 to 10 years of direct experience in traffic design aspects of transportation projects
- BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is required, with emphasis or prior work experience in traffic design
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- PE license in PA required; PTOE or willingness to obtain PTOE certification a plus.
- CADD experience a plus; MicroStation, InRoads or OpenRoads preferred
- Ability to perform project site visits
- PennDOT/PA Turnpike experience preferred
