What You'll Do:

• Install, maintain, and evaluate traffic signs, paint markings, and related field components
• Support a citywide system that includes regulatory, warning, and guide signs
• Operate within the public right-of-way using tools, tech, and teamwork
• Dive into asset management software, conduct field inspections, and review specs for new materials
• Collaborate across departments to ensure traffic safety and project success

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications/Necessary Special Requirements

Graduation from a senior high school or equivalent plus coursework and/or experience in computer science or other civil engineering field, the electrical or electronic field; and 2 years of experience of a technical nature; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Possession of a valid drivers license when operating a vehicle may be necessary to the satisfactory performance of assigned duties for some positions within this classification.
• Approved Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Safety Certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year from date of hire.
• Must achieve a level of proficiency equivalent to IMSA Level II in sign and pavement marking within one (1) year from date of hire. This may be achieved through formal certification (e.g. IMSA Level II) or through a combination of local training and verified on-the-job experience as approved by the department.
