What You’ll Do
As a Trailer Jockey, you’ll keep materials and equipment moving safely and efficiently across the facility:
- Move trailers and manage material flow between warehouse and production areas
- Ensure seamless logistics operations across the plant
- Maintain accurate records of trailers, including part numbers, quantities, and lot details
- Perform daily truck inspections and report any issues before operation
- Ensure trucks are fueled and ready for use
- Accurately complete and manage required paperwork
- Assist with material handling tasks as needed
️ Equipment & Operations
- Operate a day cab truck and yard spotter (Class A CDL required)
- Read and interpret Bills of Lading (BOL) for inbound and outbound shipments
- Safely operate a sit-down electric forklift (certification provided on Day 1)
- Learn and operate various warehouse equipment including:
- Hand jacks, drum dollies, clamp trucks
- Scissor lifts, powered hoists, floor scrubbers
- Safety cage setups
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- Experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read pick lists and use electronic inventory systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions from multiple team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle information with discretion
