The Train Operator is responsible for periodically moving and inspecting trains to ensure proper operation.
Responsibilities include performing pre- and post-run locomotive inspections, safely operating trains between stations, monitoring onboard gauges, troubleshooting minor issues, and performing basic maintenance.
They identify improvement opportunities, wear required PPE, and perform additional duties as needed.
This individual contributor role requires a high school diploma or GED, a certified train operator license, and strong diagnostic, mechanical, and communication skills.
Experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Safety compliance and physical ability to lift 40 lbs, work in noisy environments, and stand long periods are essential.
Travel may be required. The role emphasizes a customer-centric attitude, high energy, and problem-solving abilities.
