\nPosition Summary
\nThe Trainee Laboratory Technician is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable PSD services to customers. This role performs quality assurance testing on company products, prepares laboratory reports, and provides technical support for additive selection and fluid design. The technician will also maintain laboratory equipment, support quality and HSE initiatives, and work closely with technical teams, operating locations, product centers, and customer support laboratories.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n• Ensure job deliverables are accurate and completed on time.
\n• Develop the competency required to perform advanced additive selection and fluid design.
\n• Perform quality assurance testing on company products.
\n• Prepare laboratory reports prior to service delivery at the wellsite.
\n• Maintain laboratory equipment in clean and working condition.
\n• Ensure laboratory waste is properly and regularly disposed of.
\n• Prepare technical presentations for internal and external customers.
\n• Perform regular laboratory audits to ensure compliance with required standards.
\n• Assist Design/Technical Engineers and Product Champions with technical support.
\n• Perform risk analysis before each task or job to identify and mitigate safety and quality concerns.
\n• Participate in Service Quality Meetings with customers and support performance improvement through action plans.
\n• Participate in HSE and Quality initiatives.
\n• Wear required PPE and follow all HSE policies and procedures.
\n• Maintain required safety training.
\n• Provide technical support during additive selection and fluid design as competency develops.
\nRequirements
\n• 0–3 years of experience.
\n• High School Diploma or GED required.
\n• Previous laboratory experience preferred.
\n• Basic Microsoft Office 365 skills.
\n• Ability to navigate File Explorer and general computer systems.
\n• Strong willingness to learn and assist across multiple functions.
\n• Ability to meet the physical and lifting requirements of the position.
\nPhysical Requirements
\nCandidates must be able to meet the lifting requirements of the position:
\n• Lift with 2 hands from floor to knuckle: 54 lbs x 2
\n• Lift with 2 hands from waist to waist: 54 lbs x 2
\n• Lift with 2 hands from floor to shoulder: 50 lbs x 2
\n• Lift with 2 hands from floor to crown: 30 lbs x 2
\nPPE Requirements
\n• PPE provided, including coveralls and safety glasses.
\n• Steel-toed shoes required.
\n• Reimbursement available for steel-toed shoes up to $150.
\n• Prescription safety glasses may be reimbursed based on cost and approval.
