We are looking for a Trainee Supervisor to manage overseeing and managing of both NYH internal surfacing crews and/or subcontracted paving/surfacing crews.  If you know your way around pavers, rollers, hot asphalt and able to work to British Standards tolerances, this is your next step.

You'll work across a varied programme of surfacing schemes from residential roads to major infrastructure projects helping us keep North Yorkshire moving.

As a Trainee Supervisor

•        You will supervise surfacing crews delivering highway maintenance and improvement schemes.
•        Coordinate labour, materials and plant to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.
•        Monitor quality standards, ensuring surfacing works meet specification and performance requirements.
•        Promote a strong safety culture through site inspections, briefings and compliance with procedures.
•        Build positive relationships with operatives, subcontractors and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
•        Keep accurate records, solve problems on site and support continuous improvement across operations.
•        Develop your leadership skills through coaching, mentoring and hands-on supervisory experience.

To be successful in the role, you will have some of the following skills and experience:

•        Have significant experience in surfacing and tarmac in highway activities at Ganger level or equivalent and a demonstrable proven track record of project delivery and/managing others.
•        Good communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment
•        Commitment to partnering and to a high-quality service
•        Awareness of company operating and safety procedures
•        Competent IT skills and computer literacy using MS Office / Outlook / Project, financial systems (Sage or similar) and operational systems (Symology or similar)
•        You must have a full UK drivers' licence with the ability to travel around the county
