Overview:


 

We are seeking a team member to join our Training and Compliance team. This role will help support staff training and make sure procedures are followed consistently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and adaptable and enjoys working with others. Interested in supporting staff learn and grow, be willing to learn new skills, and enjoy hands-on work. A strong commitment to excellent animal care is important. Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification is preferred.

Coordinates animal resource core operations, including overseeing support services and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates the daily operations of the animal resources core facility.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines and protocols for animal care and use.
  • Oversees the training of staff and researchers on proper animal handling techniques.
  • Maintains accurate records of animal inventory, health status, and breeding activities.
  • Collaborates with researchers to provide support and guidance on animal-related projects.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Animal Sciences, or related field, required.


Licensure Requirement:

Certifications:

LATG certification through AALAS, or certification within [timeframe] after hire, within a year of hiring or at manager discretion.


Skills:

  • Working knowledge of federal animal welfare regulations and AAALAC accreditation standards.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer and MS Office skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Experience:

  • Two year of experience within a laboratory environment, required.
  • Two years of animal care operations management or coordination, preferred.
