Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Training and Development Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, implement, and manage comprehensive training programs that enhance employee skills, support talent management initiatives, and promote continuous learning across the organization.

This position requires the supervision of all training and development necessary for the advancement and growth of the Company, its employees, and its Independent Contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for and conduct driver orientation providing training for drivers in all aspects of company operations, including driving skills, fleet safety, mechanical inspections and repairs, fueling, communications with Fleet Manager, loading/unloading procedures, proper completion of paperwork, accident procedures and reporting, mobile-comm usage, electronic log training and hours of service requirements.

  • Assist with the development and execution of the company Safety program including conducting safety training and testing, Federal, state, and company safety regulation enforcement, working with Federal, state, local, and industry safety officials, and participating in industry related safety training programs.

  • Train members of the Operations Department to improve fleet management and compliance with rules and regulations.

  • Interface with other departments, aiding and supporting in the training of company drivers and Independent Contractors.

  • Assist in assuring the Company's Disciplinary Program remains important and compliant with the input and assistance from the others in Safety and Human Resources.

  • Identify areas where training may be needed based on poor roadside inspections.

  • Assist in driver performance evaluations when needed and review trainer/trainee evaluations.

  • Perform training audits to ensure that processes and procedures are followed and meet company expectations. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Actively participate in receiving and addressing motorist complaint/comment calls, accident reporting and after-hours safety emergencies.

  • Schedule and review periodic road test evaluations for new drivers, returning drivers, and current drivers to identify and correct poor driving habits.

  • Perform job specific training, as needed, with new and existing drivers based on areas of specialty and company goals.

  • Conduct driver and employee training for enhanced processes, systems, and new equipment.

  • Monitor indicators of high-risk behaviors and develop personal improvement plans with individual drivers to change unsafe behaviors to reduce or eliminate preventable safety infractions including, but not limited to, accidents, injuries, citations, etc.

  • Ensure proper procedures are in place to document completed training and recommendations for remedial training, if applicable, in the internal company software system.

  • Develop and provide HOS, CSA, D/A, MPG, Hazmat, proper equipment usage, and overall safety training to all drivers and applicable safety training to office personnel.

  • Coordinate and maintain the inventory of training items for safety and operations.

  • Assists driver-trainers to ensure success of the trainers and trainees as well as the company.

  • Coordinate and maintain a successful "train the trainer" program to expand the current knowledge skillsets of all safety coaches and driver-trainers.

  • Monitor the Driver Scorecards on a quarterly basis to ensure low performers are coached for improvement and middle and high performers are praised and recognized.

  • Monitor, coordinate, and initiate reviews to determine which drivers have ongoing compliance issues before and after remedial training.

  • Responsible for training, coaching, and providing consultative guidance to Operations and driver fleet relative to utilizing our Event Recording Cameras.

Qualifications
