The Job
Performance Education & Resource Centers (PERC) is recruiting for Training and Development Specialists who will plan, coordinate, assess and deliver a wide variety of training programs. Training and Development Specialists provide advanced level educational, facilitation, and staff development services including the delivery of college-accredited courses.

Flexible schedules may be offered contingent upon satisfactory work performance and as business needs dictate.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting, medical exam/drug test, and verification of employment history.
Physical Requirements: Incumbents deliver classroom training on a regular basis which includes frequent and continuous walking and standing.
Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation. Mileage may be available at current IRS rates.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet one (1) of the following options:
Option 1:
Education: Masters degree or higher-level graduate degree in English, Education, Business/Public Administration, Communication, Organizational Development, Computer Science, Social/Behavioral Science, or a closely related field.
Experience: One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience (within the last five (5) years) as a professional trainer or educator.
Option 2:
Education: Bachelors degree in English, Education, Business/Public Administration, Communication, Organizational Development, Computer Science, Social/Behavioral Science, or a closely related field.
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience (within the last five (5) years) as a professional trainer or educator.
Option 3:
Education: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework from an accredited institution in English, Education, Business/Public Administration, Communication, Organizational Development, Computer Science, Social/Behavioral Science, or a closely related field. (Transcripts must be attached to the application.)
Experience: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent experience as a Staff Training Instructor (or trainee) with San Bernardino County.
Experience: Six (6) months of full-time equivalent experience as a Staff Training Instructor (or trainee) with San Bernardino County, AND one (1) year of full-scope supervisory experience over professional or technical staff.
Important Notes:
Providing informal or periodic on-the-job training is not considered qualifying experience. Delivering training, performing needs assessments, developing curriculum, and other closely related duties must encompass primary scope of responsibilities.
A copy of legible transcripts MUST be provided (unofficial are acceptable) if the applicant does not possess an associates degree or higher in one of the qualifying fields listed above.
Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside of the U.S. must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service indicating equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.
Desired Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have extensive professional-level experience developing curriculum and conducting in-person trainings. Skilled experience with virtual learning platforms such as MS Teams, Adobe Connect, and other virtual facilitation methods is also highly desirable. The ideal candidate will also have strong project management skills and formal experience facilitating and presenting to managerial and/or executive staff.
