Training and Support Specialist

Behavioral Health Solutions of South Texas is seeking a motivated and organized Training and Support Specialist to support the planning, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of employee and community learning and development initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating engaging learning experiences, collaborating with teams, and helping employees develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. The Training & Support Specialist will work closely with the Human Resources Director to ensure training and onboarding programs are effectively planned, delivered, and continuously improved.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess organizational training and professional development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and collaboration with leadership.
• Coordinate and facilitate training sessions, workshops, orientations, onboarding sessions, and other learning events.
• Manage training logistics, including scheduling, participant communication, room setup, technology, instructional materials, and presenter support.
• Develop, update, or source training manuals, job aids, guides, presentations, and other learning resources.
• Deliver engaging training using a variety of instructional methods, including instructor-led training, group discussions, demonstrations, simulations, videos, and interactive activities.
• Maintain accurate training records, attendance, certifications, assessments, evaluations, and retraining requirements.
• Measure and evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, surveys, participant feedback, and performance metrics, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Stay current on best practices and emerging trends in learning and development, instructional design, and adult learning.
• Assist with employee equipment assignments, inventory tracking, and related documentation.
• Conduct research, collect and analyze data, and prepare reports to support Human Resources initiatives.
• Provide administrative and operational support for Human Resources projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, or a related field.
• One to two years of experience in training, learning and development, human resources, or a related field.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to develop, coordinate, and deliver effective training programs for diverse audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn learning management systems (LMS) and other training technologies.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
• Valid Texas driver's license, current automobile liability insurance, and reliable transportation.
