Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY: Develop, promote, and sell Lakeshore’s business and industry services. Coordinate the needs of business with the resources, networks, and partners of the college in achieving Lakeshore's mission and customer needs. Collaborate with the Associate Dean of Economic Development to ensure proper flow of information to address time-sensitive customer requests. Provide an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned):

 

(90%) Facilitate Outside Sales and Delivery  

  • Be actively involved in the contract training sales process to include problem solving and contract revisions as needed to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. 
  • Market Lakeshore to business/industry, governmental and public service. 
  • Diagnose and assess education and training needs of business and industry. Determine best delivery method for training, ensure preparation of materials, and deliver catering for on campus trainings. 
  • Integrate training/technical assistance needs of business and industry with Lakeshore's resources including fulltime programs, courses/services to provide customized training, standard curriculum and courses, seminars, technological update training, and pre-employment training.  
  • Develop customer relationship strategies (contacts, face-to-face, and leads). 
  • Manage the sales pipeline from initial contact through closed sales and maintain client records in CRM. 
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and day-to-day oversight of Workforce Solutions adjunct instructors, including interviewing existing instructors and recommending the hire of new instructors.
  • Research and advocate for new initiatives developed by the college. 

 

(10%) Develop and Manage State WAT Grants

  • Participate in WATG application development, budget development, implementation, and evaluation. Work with client specialists and grant team to develop and evaluate outcomes.
  • Target business prospects for incumbent worker training opportunities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline required. Master’s degree preferred.  

  • Two to three years of related occupational experience required.
