Training Instructor/Industrial Hygienist/Site Manager 
Location: Spokane, WA 98003 (In person) 
Pay: $80,000 – $85,000 annually 
Job type: Full-time 
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, with occasional project-driven flex 
Travel: Occasional — approximately once every two months or less

What You’ll Do 
As an Environmental Instructor / Hygienist, you will lead the Spokane training location while delivering high‑quality environmental education, conducting field surveys, and supporting laboratory air sample analysis. Your workday may include: 
  • Teaching asbestos, lead, and general environmental compliance courses. 
  • Delivering AHERA, RRP, and other regulatory training modules. 
  • Conducting environmental field surveys, including asbestos building inspections, lead‑based paint inspections, lead risk assessments, and general hazardous materials evaluations. 
  • Collecting bulk samples of suspect asbestos‑containing materials and lead‑based paint using industry‑standard protocols. 
  • Performing asbestos air monitoring, including setup, calibration, and collection of PCM air samples. 
  • Reading and interpreting asbestos air samples using phase‑contrast microscopy. 
  • Preparing accurate training records, certificates, inspection reports, and compliance documentation. 
  • Managing classroom setup, scheduling, and student coordination for the Spokane location. 
  • Maintaining training materials, microscopes, pumps, sampling equipment, and classroom tools. 
  • Supporting occasional regional training events or special sessions. 
What You Bring  Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, industrial hygiene, occupational health, chemistry, biology, or related field. (preferred) 
  • Equivalent professional experience may be accepted in place of a degree. 
Instructor or teaching experience and strong communication skills. 
Certifications (preferred — we’ll help you earn them): 
  • AHERA Building Inspector 
  • NIOSH 582 
  • Lead Instructor / Risk Assessor 
  • Asbestos Supervisor or equivalent 
Strong technical writing and organizational skills. 
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. 
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and manage classroom equipment. 
Ability to pass a background check and drug test (required for regulatory compliance).
