Description
The Training Manager will be an integral part of Syneos Health Learning Solutions team with a primary responsibility for designing, developing, and executing the commercial training strategy in support of product launch and ongoing field effectiveness.
The Training Manager will report directly to the National Program Director and VP of Sales. Syneos Health Learning Strategists, Content Developers are there as support when needed to achieve the collective goals of the client.
The Training Manager owns the end-to-end‑ commercial training program, ensuring that commercial strategy, product knowledge, market access, data and analytics, and field execution goals are translated into a cohesive learning experience.
This is a highly visible role that requires both strategic leadership and hands-on‑ execution. The Training Manager will develop training content, facilitate learning, partner closely with commercial leadership, and continuously evolve the training program based on real-world‑ field feedback and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Training Strategy & Program Ownership
Own the commercial training strategy from pre‑launch through post‑launch execution
Translate launch and commercial strategy into a structured, executable training roadmap
Define training objectives, scope, sequencing, and delivery approach
Ensure training aligns with evolving business priorities and launch timelines
Design, generate, and deliver communication plan and communications to internal and external teams outlining training strategies and roadmaps
Training Content Development
Develop, curate, and organize training content across disease state, product, market access, analytics, and execution
Identify and leverage off-the-shelf training materials where appropriate and develop new content‑ when needed
Create learning objectives, course summaries, workshops, and learning application activities
Ensure all training content supports comprehension, skill development, and real-world‑ application
Cross Functional‑ Collaboration
Serve as the central point of ownership for training across commercial functions.
Partner with sales leadership, market access, analytics, operations, and external vendors
Ensure training content aligns with CRM tools, data platforms, and field workflows
Integrate inputs from multiple stakeholders into a cohesive training program
Training Execution & Facilitation
Facilitate live, virtual, and blended training sessions
Lead workshops, discussions, and applied learning experiences
Support and enable managers in delivering training content (“train-the‑-‑trainer”)
Adapt training delivery based on participant engagement and learning needs
Learning Effectiveness & Field Readiness
Design training to drive understanding and skill development, not just content completion
Reinforce learning through discussion, practice, and feedback
Ensure training prepares teams for real-world‑ execution and customer interactions
Measure effectiveness based on readiness, capability, and performance outcomes
Continuous Improvement
Gather feedback from managers and field teams following training delivery
Observe post‑launch execution to identify skill gaps and training needs
Update and refine training content based on field insights and evolving strategy
Maintain training as a dynamic, evolving program rather than a one‑time event
Strategic Partnership
Act as a strategic advisor to commercial leadership on training needs and priorities
Provide clear visibility into training development timelines and progress
Recommend adjustments to training scope, design, or resourcing as needed
Support leadership discussions regarding readiness, execution, and launch preparedness
Along with a results-oriented mindset, self-assurance and an engaging manner, the ideal candidate has:
BS/BA Degree required
5+ years in commercial pharmaceutical/biotech industry
Demonstrated experience in commercial training, learning & development
Experience supporting product launches
Ability to operate effectively in high visibility, ‑high accountability‑ roles
Proven ability to develop and deliver training content using adult learning principles to optimize training
Advanced facilitation and communication skills
Experience working cross functionally in complex or ‑fast paced‑ environments
Experience with biologics in the rheumatology space including buy and bill products
Ability to manage ambiguity and problem solve
Experience training field and virtual teams supporting specialty products(s) with knowledge of healthcare professionals, medical systems, strategic account selling, commercial payers, Medicare plans and state Medicaid plans
Understanding of compliance & privacy laws
Demonstrated project management skills to manage training timelines, meeting planning and training budgets
Skilled in use of virtual platforms and comfort in working virtually (ZOOM, Microsoft Teams)
Expertise in MS Office tools such as MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS OneDrive, MS OneNote, MS Forms
Valid driver's license
Ability to travel when needed

The annual base salary for this position is $160,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
