    Weekend Requirements: As Needed | Work Hours: 8:00am- 5:00pm Mon- Fri mostly | Status: Full Time- 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) | Entity: Owensboro Health System | Department: Finance

    Job Summary:

    Develops and provides services for Revenue Cycle departments, including education, training to staff and oversight of compliance and assessment of skills, and maintaining records.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Serves as the departmental Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Epic Revenue Cycle and Patient Access applications, providing advanced guidance regarding system functionality, workflows, and operational best practices.

    • Leads the coordination and maintenance of Epic training schedules in alignment with New Employee Orientation, Epic Nurse Basics classes, departmental onboarding, and organizational training initiatives.

    • Maintains and administers training-related systems, including HealthStream course catalogs, enrollment assignments, course completions, and reporting activities.

    • Coordinates communication of training schedule modifications, curriculum updates, workflow changes, and application enhancements to departmental leaders and stakeholders.

    • Oversees maintenance and optimization of assigned training content, learning materials, FinThrive course assignments, competency assessments, and related educational resources.

    • Assists with onboarding, mentoring, and development of newly hired trainers, including support for Epic Credentialed Trainer and certification requirements.

    • Serves as the primary liaison for Epic upgrades, Nova Notes reviews, system enhancements, new functionality releases, and training environment readiness activities.

    • Collaborates with Information Technology, Operational Leaders, Revenue Cycle departments, and external partners to evaluate workflow changes and develop effective training solutions.

    • Participates in system implementation, optimization, and enhancement projects as the Revenue Cycle Training Team representative and subject matter expert.

    • Analyzes Epic workflows, user performance metrics, audit findings, and operational outcomes to identify training opportunities and recommend process improvements.

    • Leads the design, development, and revision of training curricula, job aids, workflows, competency tools, and educational materials to support organizational objectives.

    • Coordinates cross-functional training initiatives involving Scheduling, Authorization/Referral, Compliance, Denials Management, Cash Posting, Work Queues, Optum, and other Revenue Cycle functions.

    • Provides consultation to leadership regarding training strategy, adoption planning, workflow standardization, and operational readiness for system changes.

    • Functions as a lead resource for complex end-user issues, workflow questions, and training-related escalations.

    Position Requirements:

    Work Experience

    • A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience as determined by the organization

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in related field, as determined by the organization required upon hire.

    Additional Education Information

    • A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

    Licensure/Certification/Registration

    • Certified/Accredited through Epic Systems in a minimum of (2) of the following applications; Epic Care Ambulatory, Epic Care Urgent Care, Benefits Engine, Cadence, Grand Central, Hello World, Hospital Outpatient Department, MyChart, Payer Platform, Prelude, Referrals and Authorization, Resolute- Hospital Billing and Professional Billing, Training Environment and Documentation or Welcome required upon hire.
