Duties

Help

  • Perform difficult and responsible work in support of the organization's automated systems training program.
  • Prepare training agenda, handouts, charts and reports, as necessary.
  • Prepare class rosters, graduation certificates, transcripts, relief/recycle packages and additional student status actions.
  • Conduct formal and informal briefings for audiences, which include new staff and faculty, on topics related to customer services, training student management and organization procedures.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Skill of a qualified typist is required.
  • This position is designated as having regular and recurring contact with children under the age of 18 and is subject to requirements of DoDI 1402.05 and AR 600-78.
  • This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirements for Training Technician (Office Automation) GS-1702-07:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes, assisting in the classroom scheduling for students; retrieving student and school data while producing a range of documents (i.e. calendars, catalogs, reports, spreadsheets, etc.); and assisting in developing training guidance to be distributed among students. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
