Duties

Help

As a TRAINING TECHNICIAN - TITLE 32, GS-1702-9, you will oversee Group Training Programs and Subordinate Unit Compliance. Serve as the Group Unit Training Manager (UTM). Act as the primary advisor to the Group Commander /A-Staff Director on training policy and execution across subordinate units. Lead the planning, development, and evaluation of group-wide education and training initiatives, establish a cohesive training strategy and ensure compliance through coordination with subordinate UTMs. Provide policy interpretation from Headquarters and Major Command levels. Coordinate Career Development Course (CDC) and Upgrade Training (UGT) Oversight. Validate and track CDC actions, waiver requests, and reenrollments. Provide guidance and quality assurance of CDC administration. Act as liaison between units and Force Support Squadron, Force Development for CDC failures and Wing Commander actions. Conduct Staff Assistance Visits and evaluate Unit Training Programs. Document findings, identify training shortfalls, and provide written feedback to commanders. Track corrective actions and provide consultation on policy implementation. Brief Group Commander or Director on Training Performance Metrics monthly. Manage Formal Schools and Distance Learning Integration. Coordinate formal school allocations and attendance. Ensure prerequisite validation and communicate requirements to UTMs. Oversee Distributed Learning programs and equipment management. Support Commander-Level Board Processes and Force Development Initiatives. Manage the Professional Development Board submissions. Review nominations, prepare selection recommendations, and assist in the preparation of board packages. Advise applicants and consolidate recommendations for Group Commander or Director action. Perform other duties as assigned.

RANK REQUIREMENT:

Member must provide in writing with their application package that they are willing to accept a reduction in rank in order to be qualified for this position, if applicable. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard.

You must be assigned to a compatible military position.

Wear of the military uniform.

May be subject to furlough actions.

May be required to successfully complete a trial period.

Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation.

Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus.

Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility.

This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:

Experience that has provided the knowledge of Air Force vision, values, organization, policy, and mission. Knowledge in military training centers, training programs, schools, and units. Knowledge of Air Force education and training policy requirements

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Must have at least 24 months experience conducting and developing education and training programs. Experience developing and publishing training schedules. Experience with training program management such as scheduling training events and facilities; conducting assistance visits and training meetings; qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; military personnel classification system and policies; communicative interpersonal skill applications; and distance learning concepts. Experience presenting professional courses and briefings. Experience developing reports and maintaining records. Experience organizing and preparing instructional materials. Experience preparing assignments, exercises, demonstrations, training aids, and reference material.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
