About the Opportunity
Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring a Transactional Accounting Specialist (AP/AR) for a manufacturing company in Grand Rapids, MN. In this role, you’ll manage both AP and AR functions while supporting accurate financial processing and month-end activities. What You’ll Do as an AP/AR Specialist:- Process high-volume accounts payable invoices accurately and efficiently
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents
- Code and enter invoices into the accounting system
- Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments
- Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Generate and distribute customer invoices
- Post customer payments (checks, ACH, credit cards)
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on past-due accounts
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve billing issues
- Assist with month-end closing activities and audit support
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
What You Need to Bring to the AP/AR Role:- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
