The OpportunityThe Corporate Counsel will serve as the primary point of contact for all contractual issues associated with a multimillion-dollar projects, working directly with the General Counsel and the Project Executives. This role is integral to ensuring contractual compliance, risk mitigation, and effective legal support for project operations.LocationYou will work at our enterprise headquarters in Detroit, MI with frequent travel to projects as required.ResponsibilitiesYour key responsibilities include:Interpret and advise project team on contract provisions and obligationsWithin established time frames, draft and issue formal notices to:OwnerSubcontractorsInsurance companiesCollaborate with the Risk Mitigation team to address:OCIP (Owner Controlled Insurance Program)SDI (Subcontractor Default Insurance)Other insurance obligationsReview and draft riders to standard subcontractsSupport the project team with:Change order requirementsChange management processesEnsure timely submission of all contractual documentationProvide training and guidance to the operations team on contractual requirementsQualificationsTo qualify for the role, you must have:Juris Doctor (JD)1-5 years of experience in construction law, contract interpretation, and risk managementUnderstanding of insurance programs (OCIP, SDI)Excellent written communication and collaboration skillsWilling to work onsite at the project site and at our HeadquartersIdeally, you'll also have:Proficiency with internal business software and databases, including SharePoint and CMICEEO/AA Employer M/F/D/V Walbridge is an equal opportunity employer with a culture that promotes diversity in the workforce.
