BASICFUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Dean, Student Development, operate a Transfer/Career Center which
provides a variety of services to both students planning on transferring to four year colleges and
universities, and students involved in career exploration/planning activities. Assist veterans and
their dependents by advising them of the rights and benefits entitled to them by law; certify
students who are eligible for VA benefits; maintain all documents associated with the certification

EDUCATIONANDEXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to an associate's degree with coursework in business, psychology, or
related field and two years of increasingly responsible student services experience or related area
involving contact with the public in an advisory capacity.

Per the CSEA Agreement, Article 16.0 - Transfers:
16.1.2 Request: Bargaining units may request a transfer into a vacant classified position by submitting an application for the position with the Office of Human Resources. To provide advance notice of future vacancies, the District will announce all such permanent positions internally for 3 working days before the vacancy can be opened for applications internally and externally. Email notification was sent to all classified employees on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Pre-employment Requirements
Education Code §87408.6 states that no person shall be initially employed by a community college district in an academic or classified position unless the person has submitted to an examination (TB test) within the past sixty (60) days to determine that he/she/they is free of active tuberculosis.
As a condition of employment, the position you are applying for will require that you provide fingerprints to the local police department. The fee charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) for the fingerprint report is the employee's responsibility.
