Since 1987, we have provided safe, reliable, and efficient rail-related services throughout North America.This is a hands-on outdoor position for someone who takes pride in working safely, supporting their team, and completing physically demanding work. Experience in construction, landscaping, warehousing, manufacturing, heavy equipment, agriculture, or industrial labor can provide a strong foundation for this role.You do not need previous rail industry experience. We are looking for someone who is willing to learn, follows directions, arrives ready to work, and wants the stability of a long-term career.What You'll DoAs a Transfer Operator, you will safely transfer bulk materials between railcars and tank trucks using pumps, hoses, valves, and other industrial equipment.Your responsibilities will include:Connecting and disconnecting transfer hoses and equipmentOperating pumps, valves, and related systemsInspecting equipment before and during product transfersClimbing railcars and working at elevated heightsWearing required personal protective equipment, including specialized protective gear when necessaryMonitoring transfers to help prevent spills, leaks, and product lossFollowing company, customer, and environmental safety proceduresCommunicating clearly with supervisors and other team membersAssisting with general site and equipment maintenance as neededEvery Transfer Operator plays an important role in protecting the team, the customer, the environment, and the products being handled.What We're Looking ForA successful candidate will be:Comfortable performing physical work outdoors in changing weather conditionsAble to climb, bend, stand, walk, and work around industrial equipmentWilling to work at heights and wear required fall-protection equipmentDependable and able to report to work on time each daySafety-focused and able to follow detailed proceduresComfortable working independently and as part of a teamWilling to learn new equipment, processes, and safety requirementsInterested in stable, long-term employmentA valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for this position.What We OfferWhen you join Road & Rail Services as a Transfer Operator, you will receive:Starting pay of $20.00 per hourMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement planPaid holidays and vacationAnnual steel-toed boot allowanceCompany-provided personal protective equipmentTraining and opportunities for advancementA team-oriented environment that values safety and accountabilityReady to Get Started?If you are dependable, safety-minded, and ready to build a career with a growing company, apply today for the Transfer Operator position in Baltimore.Road & Rail Services is an equal opportunity employer.
