Job summary:
The Analyst, working under the Senior Director supervision and alongside the Project Superintendents, is assisting in capital project delivery within NYCT Facilities Operations, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating project activities from initiation through close-out.
- Conduct frequent site visits for quality control purposes and prepare daily field reports.
- Assist in identifying project risks, issues, and constraints, and support timely mitigation and resolution.
- Coordinate with Project Superintendents, NYCT staff, contractors, and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
- Work closely with Project Superintendents to help ensure crews have the necessary tools, materials, equipment, access, and site support.
- Follow up on required approvals, resources, action items, and stakeholder responses to help maintain project progress.
- Support compliance with applicable standards, codes, regulations, policies, procedures, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
- Assist with project plans, documentation, progress reporting, cost tracking, procurement support, staff coordination, and maintaining a professional work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Assistant Transit Management Analyst I & II
- Master's degree in a related field (business, public administration, engineering, finance, transportation planning, HR, operations research, etc.)
OR
- Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of full‑time professional experience in areas such as budget/financial administration, accounting, engineering, operations analysis, organizational research, personnel/public administration, staff development, employment program planning, security management, or general administration.
Associate Transit Management Analyst
- Master's degree in a related field and 1 year of relevant full‑time professional experience (budget, financial admin, engineering, operations research, program evaluation, personnel/public administration, etc.)
OR
- Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience in the areas listed above.
Notes:
- To qualify for Level II, transportation experience is required.
- For the Associate level, candidates must have 1 year of satisfactory supervisory experience AND transportation experience.
Desired Skills and Competencies:
- PMP and CCM Certifications are preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have focus and ability to deliver results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Must possess excellent team building, listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
- Proficient computer skills (i.e., Windows environment, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.) and strong business administrative skills (i.e., presentations, report and letter writing, time management, etc.).
