Transition Coach
Purpose
Transition Coaches provide direct care and therapeutic support to adolescents in a residential treatment setting. Through relationship-based, trauma-informed care, they help students build emotional regulation, resilience, and independence while preparing for life beyond treatment.
Schedule:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7am - 3pm
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday 2:30pm - 3pm
- Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 7am - 3pm
- Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 2:30pm - 3pm
- Each schedule will require one full Sunday shift per month, 8am - 10pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong, professional relationships with students through daily engagement and activities
- Support emotional regulation, accountability, and real-world skill development
- Implement treatment plans and provide behavioral support, including crisis intervention when needed
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
- Supervise students during routines, recreation, and off-campus activities
- Transport students to appointments and outings (as needed)
- Complete documentation and communicate with the treatment team
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
Qualifications
- Experience working with youth (residential, education, recreation, or similar) preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to build trust while maintaining boundaries
- Calm, dependable, and able to handle high-stress situations
- Willing to be trained in CPR/First Aid and crisis intervention (provided)
- Must be 20+ years old; valid driver's license preferred
Physical & Work Environment
- Active role including standing, walking, hiking, and participating in recreational activities
- Ability to respond to crises, including physical interventions when trained
- Work occurs in residential homes, classrooms, and outdoor settings in varying conditions
