The Sheppard Pratt School in Cumberland is a nonpublic special education day school dedicated to providing year-round educational, vocational, and daily living services to students in grades K-12. What to expect.

You will assess students’ vocational interests and prepare them for post-graduation based on an understanding of their developmental needs.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Preparing the transition component of the individualized education plan (IEP) for students in the program.
  • Serving as a resource for students and their families/caregivers regarding post-secondary planning, including scholarship and financial aid applications, and connecting them with relevant agencies.
  • Developing transition portfolios for students.
  • Assisting in tracking and managing student service-learning hours and Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) graduation requirements as appropriate.

The pay range for this position is $47,175.65 minimum - $91,052 maximum.  Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.

What we need from you.

  • One of the following combinations of education and experience:
    • Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field and experience working with behaviorally challenged adolescents.
    • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience.
  • MSDE Initial Professional License (IPL) is preferred.
