Duties

Help

You will serve as a Transition Relocation and SEAP Coordinator and be responsible for the development and management of the Transition, Relocation and Spouse Employment Programs within the assigned geographic area of responsibility.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include:

Conduct case management for transitioning service members to ensure compliance with Federal Law.
Manages the Transition and Assistance Program by assessing member needs, collaborating with agencies, and conducting education and training in accordance with policy.
Interview/counsel individuals and their families to identify career goals, plans and needs.
Serve as the point of contact for the Contract Officer Representative Administrator for the Department of Labor Transition Assistance Program.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis.

Experience advocating for clients to ensure they receive entitled benefits and service;
Advise complex topics in a clear, concise, and accessible manner to include both verbal and written communication skills;
Experience helping clients to establish career goals and defining a path to achieve set goals.

Student Loan - Selectee(s) for this position who are newly appointed to a permanent or term position may be eligible for student loan repayment up to $10,000 (pre-tax) for one calendar year.
