This opportunity is designed for a manager who is comfortable being visible in the operation, developing employees, solving problems, and taking responsibility for the overall performance of the terminal.This is not a desk-only management position. You will spend time in the field alongside your team, monitoring daily activity and ensuring employees have the training, equipment, and direction needed to work safely and efficiently.The terminal handles the transfer of commodities between railcars and trucks, which may include ethanol, plastic pellets, food-grade materials, and other products. A strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, customer service, and operational consistency is essential.What You'll Be Responsible ForAs Terminal Manager, you will:Direct and coordinate daily transloading and terminal activitiesLead, train, coach, schedule, and develop terminal employeesConduct safety meetings and reinforce safe work practicesEnsure products are transferred safely and according to established proceduresMonitor productivity, labor utilization, operating expenses, and overall terminal performanceHelp manage budgets and support established P&L objectivesMaintain accurate operational, safety, training, and customer documentationCommunicate with customers and address service or operational concernsIdentify operational problems and implement practical solutionsEnsure equipment, work areas, and terminal grounds are maintained appropriatelySupport compliance with applicable company, customer, OSHA, EPA, FRA, and DOT requirementsWork outdoors and assist employees with operational responsibilities when circumstances require itWhat We're Looking ForSuccessful candidates should have at least two years of management or supervisory experience, preferably with responsibility for operating expenses, budgets, productivity, or P&L results.Experience in transloading, rail operations, transportation, logistics, chemical handling, manufacturing, warehousing, terminal operations, or another industrial environment is strongly preferred.You should also be able to:Lead employees while holding the team accountable for performance and safetyCommunicate effectively with employees, customers, and company leadershipMake sound decisions in a fast-moving operational environmentOrganize multiple priorities without losing attention to detailWork both independently and as part of a larger operations teamPerform work outdoors in changing weather conditionsSafely climb railcars, use stairs and ladders, and navigate an industrial terminal environmentAssist with physical or operational duties when necessaryCompensation & BenefitsStarting salary: $65,000 annually, negotiable depending on experienceMedical insuranceDental insuranceVision insurance401(k) with company matchingPaid holidaysPaid vacationAnnual bonus opportunitiesCareer development and advancement opportunitiesBuild Your Career with Road & Rail ServicesSince 1987, Road & Rail Services has supported customers throughout North America with rail-related operations, logistics, maintenance, and transportation services.We are looking for a leader who wants more than an office management position.
