Transmission Engineer

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Transmission Engineer for a position located in St. Louis, Missouri; Akron, Ohio; or Columbus, Ohio. The Transmission Engineer will maintain a high attention to detail, possess working knowledge of Transmission Line design, demonstrate ownership of their work, drive for continual improvement, and collaborate effectively with their team and clients in order to make our clients successful.

The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 3 years of related transmission line design experience.

Local candidates preferred or open to relocation. This is not a remote position.

Transmission Engineer Responsibilities:

• Design of high and extra-high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines using PLS-CADD.
• Prepare construction documents including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings.
• Prepare specifications and project design criteria.
• Provide field support during construction.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients as well as provide technical leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements of theTransmission Engineer:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
• Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience.
• 3 years related transmission line design experience.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in scheduling and budgeting.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Consulting or utility experience preferred.
• Experience in HVDC is a plus.
