The Portfolio Engineer supports capital portfolio planning and execution, with a focus on developing and maintaining long-term capital plans. The role works across operating companies and functional teams to coordinate project and equipment planning, validate portfolio information, support project readiness, and help ensure capital investments are appropriately scoped, prioritized, funded, and released for execution.

Key Responsibilities
\n
\n Support development and ongoing management of long-term capital plans. \n Coordinate with operating companies and internal stakeholders on portfolio needs, priorities, and project planning. \n Support project and equipment planning across the distribution portfolio. \n Review project scopes, preliminary estimates, schedules, funding requirements, and supporting justification. \n Maintain portfolio data quality and ensure project information is complete, accurate, and consistent. \n Support portfolio governance processes, planning tools, reporting requirements, and established workflows. \n Help assess project readiness and facilitate projects through the appropriate planning and release processes. \n Identify portfolio gaps, risks, constraints, and areas requiring additional coordination. \n Work across engineering, project management, operations, planning, and other functional groups to resolve issues affecting portfolio execution. \n Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members as needed. \n \n

Required Qualifications
\n
\n Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a four-year accredited engineering program. \n Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail. \n Ability to coordinate planning activities across multiple organizations and stakeholders. \n Experience reviewing or developing project scope, estimates, schedules, funding requirements, and supporting project information. \n Ability to work effectively in a portfolio environment involving multiple projects and priorities. \n Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. \n \n

Preferred Experience
\n
\n 5+ years of experience in electric utility planning, transmission, distribution, substation, or related infrastructure work. \n Experience with utility capital planning, portfolio management, or project development. \n Knowledge of distribution equipment and transformer planning. \n Experience coordinating across engineering, operations, project management, and other utility organizations. \n Experience developing or reviewing preliminary project scopes, estimates, schedules, and business justification. \n \n
