Position Overview

Our organization is actively looking for a full-time Transplant Hepatologist to become a part of our dedicated team at the Transplant Institute. The preferred candidate should possess board certification or be board eligible in both Transplant Hepatology and Gastroenterology.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves a variety of clinical tasks, including:

  • Managing outpatient clinics focused on general hepatology and caring for pre- and post-transplant patients.
  • Conducting outpatient endoscopy procedures.
  • Providing inpatient services on a rotation of 1 in 4-5 weeks.
  • Participating in shared night and weekend on-call duties with the GI team, totaling approximately 5-6 weeks annually.
  • Collaborating with a skilled team of Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Registered Nurses for both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.
  • Engaging in teaching activities for students, residents, and fellows.
  • Encouraging a focus on clinical or health services research, with an average of 3 half-days per week allocated for this purpose.
About the Program

Our liver transplant program ranks among the largest in California, performing a significant number of transplants each year. We also operate satellite clinics in Palm Springs, Murrieta, and a nearby hospital in Riverside County.

Located in Loma Linda, our facility is the sole tertiary/quaternary program in the Inland Empire, catering to Riverside and San Bernardino counties, which together have a population exceeding 4 million. Both the Transplant Institute clinic and the Medical Center are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The area offers numerous recreational activities and boasts excellent educational institutions, all while maintaining a lower cost of living compared to many other regions in California.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting base salary for this position ranges from $340,000 to $400,000, depending on experience and faculty rank. This figure does not include variable compensation or additional productivity bonuses, which are determined by departmental compensation plans. Further details regarding compensation will be discussed during the recruitment process.
