Position Overview

Our organization is actively looking for a full-time Transplant Hepatologist to become a part of our dedicated team at the Transplant Institute. The preferred candidate should possess board certification or be board eligible in both Transplant Hepatology and Gastroenterology.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves a variety of clinical responsibilities, including:

  • Managing outpatient clinics focused on general hepatology and caring for pre- and post-transplant patients.
  • Conducting outpatient endoscopy procedures.
  • Providing inpatient services on a rotation of 1 in every 4-5 weeks.
  • Participating in shared night and weekend on-call duties with the GI team, totaling approximately 5-6 weeks annually.

Support for both inpatient and outpatient tasks will be provided by a skilled team of Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Registered Nurses. Additionally, the position includes opportunities for teaching students, residents, and fellows. A focus on clinical or health services research is encouraged, with an average of three half-days per week allocated for this purpose.

About the Program

Our liver transplant program ranks among the largest in California, performing an impressive number of transplants each year. We also operate satellite clinics in Palm Springs, Murrieta, and a nearby hospital in Riverside County.

Community and Location

Located in the Inland Empire, our facility is the only tertiary/quaternary program serving Riverside and San Bernardino counties, which together have a population exceeding 4 million. Both the Transplant Institute clinic and the Medical Center are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The area offers a wealth of recreational activities, excellent educational institutions, and a lower cost of living compared to many other regions in California.
