Job Details:

The Transport Liaison acts as a primary point of communication between emergency medical services (EMS) and the hospital, facilitating smooth patient transfers, ensuring protocols are followed, timely turnaround for transport crews and building strong relationships.  Responsibilities include escalating and communicating operational concerns, expedite the preparation of patient transport, and helping to improve overall emergency response efficiency. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, ability to work independently and work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams. 

Expectations & Requirements:

  • Communication and coordination: Serve as the main contact between EMS crews and hospital staff, ensuring seamless communication and information sharing.
  • Patient care support: Assist with patient handoffs, help resolve issues during transfers, and act as a resource for EMS regarding hospital processes and clinical pathways.
  • Operational support: Help resolve operational concerns at the direction of supervisors/managers and assist with improving workflows related to patient transportation.
  • Education and outreach: Raise awareness about hospital procedures, serve as a point of contact in the hospitals for patient, staff, and EMS focused education.
  • Relationship building: Foster collaborative partnerships with hospital leadership, healthcare providers, hospital support staff, patients and families

 

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Skills: Must have strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to be organized and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge: A good understanding of emergency procedures, local regulations, and hospital protocols is necessary.   Knowledge of HIPAA and CMS billing requirements is required.
  • Certifications: Have an active NYS DOH issued EMT-B certification or Paramedic license with an active AHA (or ARC) BLS certification.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of field operations experience as an EMT or Paramedic in a commercial ambulance entity

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to bend, kneel or crouch.
  • Ability to lift without significant assistance
Posted Salary Range: USD $21.95 - USD $36.58 /Hr. :

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and position location. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
