This position serves as the district's lead trainer for CDL and small bus drivers, manages and updates student bus routes, and provides driving coverage for daily routes, shuttles, or special events as needed. The role ensures compliance with Colorado Department of Education (CDE) and Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) requirements, promotes safe and efficient transportation for students, and supports the overall mission of the district.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below are the essential tasks performed to achieve the purpose of this job. Conduct ride-alongs, spot checks, and safety inspections with drivers. Track and document driver performance, training hours, and compliance records. Review vehicle inspections and coordinate with maintenance staff.M10%Conduct route efficiency reviews and recommend adjustments based on enrollment or ridership trends. Perform other duties as assigned.M5%TOTAL=100% EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of three (3) years' experience in school transportation, commercial driving, or related field. Prior experience as a certified trainer or mentor in CDL bus driver instruction preferred. Experience with bus routing software and transportation logistics strongly preferred.TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of Colorado Department of Education transportation regulations. Strong understanding of CDL driving requirements, defensive driving, and student safety procedures. Proficiency in routing software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, OR CERTIFICATIONS: Valid Colorado Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with P (Passenger) and S (School Bus) endorsements. Current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certificate. Certified Colorado Bus Driver Trainer designation (or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire).
