Primary Purpose:
Provide administrative and clerical support to the Director of Transportation by maintaining departmental records, attendance, and payroll documentation, purchasing records, correspondence, customer service, and general office operations. Assist in ensuring the efficient and professional operation of the Transportation Department while maintaining compliance with district policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate degree, business certification, or related coursework preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in Google Workspace, including Google Sheets
- Ability to create, maintain, and update spreadsheets, reports, and tracking documents
- Strong organizational, recordkeeping, and time-management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee, student, and district information
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of payroll, attendance, purchasing, and record management procedures preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with data and reports
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills preferred
Experience:
- Minimum two (2) years of clerical, administrative assistant, office management, or customer service experience required
- Experience maintaining payroll, attendance, personnel, financial, or departmental records preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets for tracking and data management
- School district experience preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) applicants are encouraged to apply
